I really enjoyed the posted video and the subject of living zero waste. I recently saw a writer for Buzzfeed explore this lifestyle and commit to doing it for a month. Over the course of the month she found it to be difficult, but very satisfying. I do not live a zero waste lifestyle, however, over the past few months, I have begun to reduce our waste. I no longer use bags for my produce. I try to avoid buying food in bags or containers that cannot be recycled and I make sure to shop in the bulk bin. Hi Ryan,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you 100%! It has become more and more real over the last decade and this topic is very relevant now with all of the wildfires happening in California. In San Francisco, the sky has been visibly filled with smoke for almost a week now and people have been staying indoors, wearing masks, etc. I bring this up because I feel like times like this (when people are paying attention and have visible evidence) is when we need to push education and raise awareness about climate change. We should take the opportunity to explain that these devastating wildfires and storms are directly related to global warming.
Hi Ryan! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I also agree with you about all your statements. There needs to be more investment and research in these areas since the problem seems to be worsening. These topics are very relevant since there are many disasters occurring around the nation. I feel that due to the wildfires in California the awareness is present but people don't know what to do or how to help. I like your explanation, I think this is a good start to gage your family members position and understanding of these environmental issues that threatens our human and ecological health.
